Thailand’s First Underwater Fashion Week.

Bangkok. The first underwater runway show in Thailand was the major highlights for Bangkok International Fashion Week 2010. Promising to be a feast for the fashion senses and initiative to promotes an awareness of the need to care for the environment, the event was held from 21-24 October 2010 at Parc Paragon, Siam Paragon.

With a budget of more than 40 million baht, the 4-day event will feature 17 fashion shows, the creations of more than 100 designers.
Siam Paragon, Siam Center, The Emporium, and Siam Discovery Center are striking and continuing their leadership in encouraging the international aspirations of Thai fashion with the staging of Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week 2010 under the theme “Fashion for Life.”

Apart from showcase of the first underwater runway show at Siam Ocean World, Siam Paragon by renowned Thai brand Issue, the DFA Bronze Award 2009 Fashion Accessories award winner For Asia Awards Hong Kong. Leading Thai fashion labels, celebrated world-class designers, up-and-coming design talents and promising fashion students come together to present their latest collections for Spring/Summer 2010 that take inspiration from the summer vibrancy under the theme Fashion for Life The arrival of summer will be welcomed with the news ‘aqua’ in fashion shows set to delight with their flair and beauty and to raise awareness of preserving the marine environment.

Four main shopping centres of fashion in Thailand; Siam Paragon, Siam Center, The Emporium, and Siam Discovery makes the importance of fashion week while elevate city of Bangkok to the highest level of established world fashion centres with Siam Paragon rise as the major hub.

Among the highlights for the fashion week is the newest collection of Shanghai brand JNBY. Leading designer brands of Thailand, each with a signature style will share the runway to present the best of the best fashion. ”New York’s celebrated designer Koi Suwannagate supported by Audi will stage her first runway show in Thailand to reveal her latest Spring/Summer 2010 creations with support from Audi.

Another premier event will be the fashion collection by the leading design house Flynow and other established brands such as ISSUE, THEATRE inspired by Citibank, 27 Nov. and Tube Gallery.

Rising stars Asava for Singha, KUNITAR & 8E88 smart collection by GSM Advance, Busardi presented by Giffarine Thenshi, Phuke Mermaids, Singha Life, Dusk till Dawn and Pain Killer will also showcase their latest collection. These brands plus the multi-brand boutiques, code10 and Mob.F, will showcase limited collections of outfits and accessories designed by renowned Thai designers and young talents.

The stage will also be open to the new wave of aspiring university designers under the Singha presents FASH by Srinakharinwirot University label. The exposure at BIFW has given opportunities to become professional designers and have opportunities to join renowned fashion houses.

Kriengsak Tantiphipop Executive Chief Marketing Officer of Siam Paragon, Co., Ltd. and Senior Managing Director of The Emporium Shopping Complex Co., Ltd. said, “We are determined to drive BIFW to be Thailand’s major fashion week. During the Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week 2010, Parc Paragon will be transformed to a ‘Grand Runway’ – a superb stage of international standard. As fashion will be the focus on the runway, free-flow drinks will be available throughout the four-day event at Bazaar Bar by Singha.

Citibank, Citi M Visa and leading brands at the four fashion centres, are having the “Fashionholics Sales” promotion between 18 March to 2 May 2010 for to shoppers. Up to 40% discount are available for card members at any participating store in Siam Paragon Complex, Siam Center, The Emporium and Siam Discovery.

The high-profile fashion event is held in collaboration with Citibank, Singha Corporation, Audi, Advance Info Service, Giffarine, The Nation newspaper, Harper’s Bazaar, McCafé, Channel V Thailand and Siam Ocean World Bangkok.
