Audi Inspires Innovation And Inspiration
of Fashion Festival.  

 

 
 


International stars of fashion will be featured at the first ever Audi Fashion Festival 2009 in Singapore. They are set to rock the runways that rule its couture salons. Kicking off the five-day festival will be an haute couture show by the legendary French fashion house of Christian Lacroix.

 


London-based designer Ashley Isham, will also be unveiling a showcase of his first-ever bridal collection at the Audi Fashion Festival 2009.

Fashion presentation rarely shown outside of Paris, and always behind closed doors, The Audi Fashion Festival 2009 is bringing this exquisite presentation in Singapore. Guests at the show will enjoy a night of fine dining at a black-tie gala dinner held in the Tent@Orchard. Adding to the glamour and prestige of the opening show, a supermodel will grace the Christian Lacroix couture catwalk.

 

The closing show will feature an iconic and inspirational designer celebrated for her fearless non-conformity. There is no more apt designer to wrap the festival, than Vivienne Westwood with her unique, eccentric and show-stopping Anglomania Collection.

Included in the star lineup this year is British enfant terrible, Gareth Pugh, one of the boldest fashion visionaries of his generation. With his recent Paris Fashion Week shows, the multi-talented young designer’s career is set to soar to stratospheric heights in the near future. Gareth Pugh will present his bold and cutting-edge creations, shown for the first time in Asia.

 

Audi is the presenter of this luxury fashion event as the luxury automaker had a history of prestigious associations with iconic designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada. Audi has always had a powerful design philosophy of being sporty, sophisticated and progressive.

Reinhold Carl, managing director of Audi Singapore, says: “We feel the Audi Fashion Festival 2009 is the ideal setting to showcase the latest runway collections. Another consistent supporter of Singapore’s fashion industry is Lee Hwa Jewellery, the Official Jewellery sponsor of the Audi Fashion Festival 2009. Continuing this tradition, they will be teaming up this year with London-based designer Ashley Isham, whose contemporary and sophisticated style fits perfectly with Lee Hwa Jewellery’s philosophy of pushing boundaries and keeping ahead of trends. The designer will also be unveiling a capsule showcase of his first-ever bridal collection at the festival. Not all the action will take place on the runway.

To communicate the buzz right onto Orchard Road, the Tent@Orchard will have a glass façade around its VIP Lounge. This lounge, visible to passersby on Singapore’s premier shopping street, will be dressed up with luxury furniture by Official Living sponsor, Baker, the legendary furniture lifestyle brand, whose pieces can be found at the White House, as well as in the homes of celebrities like Tom Cruise, George Clooney and Madonna. This is an unprecedented move for Baker, as it is the first premium furniture brand to participate in a major fashion event in Singapore.

During the course of the festival, there will also be a 16-ft wide mega-screen outside the Tent@Orchard, which will feature an exciting photography showcase titled “Inside Out” brought to you by Coca- Cola light. This is a daily insider peek at what’s happening behind the scenes at the festival, from backstage to the front row, projected for the first time out onto Orchard Road.

 

The Tent@Orchard, which can hold up to 600 guests, will be transformed with each passing day, from a couture gala setting to an edgy afterhours club, making every day a spectacular and unique fashion moment for those attending the show.
