Festival 2008 will be
another spectacular collections by Malaysia, Indonesia,
India, Pakistan and Philippines designers.

This year, Kuala
Lumpur takes the limelight and highlight inspired attires of the
Muslim community with the sixth installation of Islamic Fashion
Festival, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The
festival will begins with an Islamic Attire Workshop on the 22nd
November followed by fashion showcases from 24th November to the
27th November 2008. The final event will be the IFF Bazaar in
conjunction with Malaysia Savings Sale at the KL Plaza from the
28th to the 4th December 2008.

The fashion festival founded by Dato’ Raja Rezza Shah is held
annually to promote Islamic fashion as stylish and wearable
without compromising on modesty requirements of the Muslim dress
code to an international audience and to promote Kuala Lumpur as
the Islamic Fashion Capital of the world.
Islamic Fashion Festival will showcase designs that are suitable
to be worn in the presence of their muhrim while others for
recreation, prayers and evening wear. Fashion festival is also
platform to showcase for men and children too.

This year, Islamic Fashion Festival adopts a ‘gentle’ approach
to encourage Muslim women to cover as well as providing a choice
of modest and decent attire for all women the occasion arises
for this dress code for Muslims and non Muslims women alike.
Style and variety and ingenuity will come together during IFF as
it showcases creations and ideas from designers hailing from all
walks of life and diversified cultures truly representing a
runway of the world.
Malaysian designers that will participate IFF 2008 are Michael
Ong, Melinda Looi, Syahirah , Dezzaine, Sharifah Kirana,
Dezairil, Jasmi Rejab , Khadani, Atim Agoy, Sri Munawarah,
Jarumas, Aktif Bestari, Hajaba, Rozi of Kraftangan, Albert King,
ETRO, Jendela Batik, Khoon Hooi, Kapas Couture, Dato Bernard
Chandran and Dato Tom Abang Saufi.
IFF also welcome participation designers from Indonesia; Ghea
Panggabean, Defrico Audy, Hengky Kawilarang, Ronald Gaghana,
Sebastian Gunawan, Samuel Watimmena, Itang Yunasz, Musa
Widyatmodjo and Biyan. Designers from Indial Rajesh and Anirban.
Designer from Pakistan, Deepak Perwani and also designer from
Philippines; Jun Escario.
