Fashion took centre stage as fashionistas made a beeline to the Curve for an up close and personal experience with the season’s latest fashion trends at the launch of ‘Vivaciously Red’ Fashion Week recently.
Staying true to the theme, the color red featured prominently with the presence of a red carpet which screamed glamour, particularly with a special appearance by Amber Chia and a string of A-list celebrities and specially invited guests the likes of Elaine Daly, Tengku Azura, Irene Santiago and Alan Yun.
The bold theme personified the spirit behind the unique fashion show which showcased garments from the spring/summer collections of Naf Naf, Calvin Klein Jeans, Esprit and MJ by Metrojaya, being unveiled for the very first time at the Curve. Other participating names included Nichii Fashion City, PU3, Elements, Uluwatu, Oltre Moda, Key Ng, Binwani’s and brands under Group 36 such as ThreePointSix, Playboy, MCKY, Adidas, Levi’s and Arnold Palmer. The event also featured a special hair show by Hair Kunst.
Ranging from glamorous evening outfits, street chic and ready-to-wear must haves, the best of the Curve’s fashion ensemble took to the impressive runway. Featuring a gorgeous mix of color, freshness and originality, the fashion show had something for everyone.
The launch also showcased the collections of Uluwatu, a noted Indonesian brand with its very first outlet in Malaysia at the Curve. Shoppers can now obtain Uluwatu’s intricate designs that celebrate its rich Balinese tradition which is infused into its line of beautifully designed range of attire and linen products. Uluwatu has been producing quality garments for the past 25 years and is sold in countries such as Singapore, Mexico, Australia, India and Japan.
Adele Flores, Centre Manager, the Curve, commented, "The ‘Vivaciously Red’ theme was chosen as it truly reflects the dynamic and creative energy that radiates from these fashion shows. Additionally, what distinguishes the Curve’s fashion week from the rest is the unique layout of the fashion show where the red carpet extends from the centre court and runs a quarter of the Street Mall for that outdoor ambience, which is what the Curve is known for."
"Fashion conscious individuals will appreciate the season’s key looks that were brought into focus on our runway. The concept of this exciting fashion show is to create an environment for style lovers to appreciate the season’s latest offerings in the Curve’s relaxed atmosphere."
Leading up to the fashion week, the Curve had also organised a window display contest which was opened to all retail outlets. In line with the ‘Vivaciously Red’ theme, tenants were encouraged to decorate their window panels in the most attractive manner for the chance to win RM5,000.
"At the Curve, we always place a high emphasis on ensuring that our shoppers are able to experience a breath of fresh air, in all our activities. On this note, we are certain that the trends shown on the catwalks will be a source of inspiration for our shoppers to experiment with new fashion styles."
